11th Winter Karaoke party (2022)

The world seems to be changing before our eyes faster than ever before, so even our traditional pre-Christmas meetup is coming changes. After the Winter Karaoke held online and the last year limited to 100 participants, we are changing the venue: we are moving from Sokolovna Řepy to KC Novodvorská, where we have more space for all our activities. Another change is the duration of the event: this time we will not stay until late at night.

We will do everything that we can to be able to meet in person again during Christmas time and to enjoy time together with everything that belongs to pony fun. Everyone is welcome, whether you want to meet with your friends from Czequestria (or any other convention) or you want to experience the first-ever pony meetup to explore what pony fun looks like. Winter Karaoke party trots on.

Program

In addition, to meet up with many other ponies fans, you can look forward to:

• Music games My Little Karaoke (singing with ponies), My Little Rockband (playing in a band with ponies) with songs from MLP series, movies, and also made by fans and also DDR Trotmania dancing game; these games will run during the whole event
• Christmas gift exchange for attendees (see below)
• Drawing and papercraft during the entire event
• Screening of various pony videos
• Singing together and group photo together
• Christmas atmosphere, vendors, themed decorations, …
• …and much more!

Tickets

• Standard: 250 CZK (~10 €) pre-order (350 CZK /14 € at the entrance, we can’t guarantee if you fit in if you choose to buy a ticket this way!) Children under 11 are admitted for free.
• Sponsor: 430 CZK (~18€) pre-order only (not to be sold at the entrance)
• Super-sponsor: 900 CZK (~37 €) pre-order only (not to be sold at the entrance), limited amount!

The purchase of tickets is via the payment system (see the links below, if registration is open). All reservations must be paid within 7 days of their creation, but no later than 2 days before the event! After this deadline, all unpaid ticket reservations are canceled automatically.

If you want to have a 100% guarantee that you will get the chance to get on meetup, sign up and pay the entry fee with a method of your choice! As we mentioned above, our event site is not bigger on the inside, and the capacity can’t be extended infinitely (Winter Karaoke was sold out last year). Besides, you can help us pay for everything that needs to be paid in advance (from venue rent to ticket rewards). Thanks!

FRIDAY (17th December) – Pre-party

The official pre-party is NOT taking place this year – after bad experiences from the previous Winter Karaoke Party and the last Czequestria, we decided not to organize a big pre-party. The reason is primarily the size of the group and the restaurants’ approach to similar gatherings.

If you want to have a pre-party with others, we advise you to arrange it on our Discord server – many participants arrive the day before and a meetup in smaller groups is usually not a problem.

SOBOTA (17. prosince) – Zimní Karaoke party

When: 10:00-19:00
Where: KC Novodvorská, Prague, Czech Republic (map)
How to get there: by busses 106 or 196 from the metro station Kačerov (red line C, to the right behind the corner after the exit) or by busses 196 or 197 from the metro station „Smíchovské nádraží“ (yellow line B) to the bus stop Sídliště Novodvorská.
This year the event will take place in a new location – KC Novodvorská. The main reason for the move is the gradual reduction of space in the original event location. So this year, we have plenty of space and it will be worth it! This year’s novelty is also the shorter duration of the entire event: we will finish at 19:00 so that you can get home on time (and also is not necessary to increase the entrance fee so much).

In addition to the main hall, we will also have additional rooms for Karaoke and other music games. The dressing room is a matter of course, as always. There are enough parking spaces in the vicinity for any brony drivers (there are no paid blue zones around).

Christmas gift exchange

The annual search for gifts for everyone around doesn’t tend to be the most delightful Christmas activity. This is why we came up with a different way at our first Christmas karaoke. It’s not so strenuous and adds another element of surprise.

Everyone can take part in this: prepare one gift, but do not address it to anypony specific. Just wrap it and bring it to the party. Put the gift underneath the Christmas tree, and also write your nickname on the paper and drop it into a marked box near the tree.

Gifts will be randomly selected from the pile during the exchange, and one name will be drawn from the box for each gift. The lucky person then takes the present on the stage.

The gift can be anything as long it’s MLP themed; something you make yourself (whether it’s a drawing or a repainted figure) or another special thing – anything you cannot usually buy at a corner shop. Show others that you can do more than buy a blind bag. If you don’t know what to make for your gift, let the following video inspire you.

Accommodation and common transport

If you are looking for accommodation and don’t want to pay for a hostel or a hotel, you can ask local bronies if they have a free place for the sleepover. As with other meetings, these are often available, if you ask at the right place – in this case, the 10th Winter Karaoke Party discussion thread on our forum and our Discord server are the ones you are looking for.

The same applies to shared transport: if you are traveling via (more or less) known routes and do not want to go alone, try to ask at the same places, and you will most likely find someone who will travel via the same or similar route at the same time.

Sellers and vendors

This year we also offer several tables to those more active of you who want to sell something from their pony works. The rules for vendors are the same as on Czequestria (see Rules for vendors at Winter Karaoke Party). Vendors will be let in 1 hour before the official start for the preparation of their table.

The sales requirements are entirely at your command – we will only give you a spot to place your stand with craft or artwork. Of course, all sellers must have a ticket purchased.

Volunteers (staff)

Wanna join the staff at meetups or conventions, and contribute to the group effort that makes every single event a unique experience for everyone? No matter if you want to join us for the first time or if you are an experienced staff member!

As an approved member of the staff team (also referred to as the volunteers team or helpers team), you receive free entry and our gratitude for helping us with this event, because it would not be possible to organize a good bigger event without a good staff team!
